Recruiting great candidates has never been more important than it is right now. Our clients are consistently requesting ‘rockstars’ because they need to fill new roles with someone who can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact while also being dependable and flexible as they navigate business during this pandemic.
Here are 3 tips for hiring a ‘rockstar’ today: Move Quickly Once you have identified a great candidate for your role, aim to make an offer within 36 hours of the final interview. If the candidate is interviewing with you, it is likely they have been contacted by other companies as well. If you are not able to move into the offer stage within 36 hours, make sure you are connecting with the candidate regularly to let them know what to expect. The best candidates will not stay on the market for long, especially in this current job market! Be Organized The way your company handles the interview process gives candidates a true glimpse into the way your company is run, so it’s important to make sure all of your i’s are dotted and your t’s are crossed in order to impress the right candidate! Video interviews are crucial, but the various technologies can get complicated. Make sure you are communicating effectively with each candidate prior to the interview about what they can expect from the interview process including who they will be speaking with during each call and a protocol to follow if a technical difficulty occurs. A detailed email is the best way to do this so the candidate has documentation to refer back to. Communicate Stability Many candidates are on the job market due to unforeseen layoffs, not due to poor job performance. This has been traumatic for many people, but you can help them feel confident with their decision of choosing your company by communicating stability. Talk with them about how your company has continued to prosper, the plans for the future, and specific company goals. Also, discussing advancement opportunities will help the candidate feel more secure and excited about their new role! Finding a rockstar to join your team isn’t easy, so it’s important to have a strong interview process in place to help the candidate decide to choose your company over others. Are there any other tips you’d add to our list? We’d love to hear from you!
